assignment 1

The date we had our group discussion was Wednesday 11th September 2013.

in our group we had five people including me,

•  Joe O'Donovan, 
• Paul Wright, 
• DJ Brooker,
•  Cameron Smith
•  Katie Brookman.

In our group i think i put a lot of information into our discussion when we were doing the fire service because that was the service i was researching in the lessons before, i was able to tell my group some of the skills you need. i also informed them on the skill you need to join, like the tests you will have to past like you have to be fit because you get put through a series of fitness tests. When we did the marines i said a little bit in the discussion because i didnt know that much but when other people in our group started saying thing i understood what things you needed to get into the marines then i could start joining in the discussion.

Cameron- Cameron said nothing in our grope discussion.

DJ- DJ said a lot in our grope discussion he could say alot in the fire service but he could say even more when we did the marines he knew what strong points you needed to be a good swimmer and to act under pressure.

Paul- Paul pu a lot into the marines because he knew alot because he wants to go in to the marines when he's older he also put a bit of discussion into the fire service.

katie- katie could only put a little bit of imput in when we did the marines and that was it i think she could have done a lot more to help the group in the discussion.

the problems were that your eyes strain easy if you are using your phone for long. To prevent straining your eyes by using your phone you can take regular breaks and you can attach a screen filter onto your phone or computer. You can also adjust the brightness of the technology you're using, the brighter the screen is the more your eyes strain. There are a lot of mechanisms put in place. WiFi is protected by having a their own individual password. To avoid hacking you should change the password regularly or put a password that no one would think of guessing. By doing scans regularly on your phone or computer it will find out if you have been hacked or if your technology is still safe. In office's and call centers at work there are health and safety rules and before working in one of them places the workers are trained to have regular breaks so their eyes don't strain from using the computers for long and they also have wrist pads so their hands don't get hurt from typing for ages.To stop people from going on their phones whilst they're driving there are hands free handsets made that you clip on to your ear and whenever you get a call from someone you speak to them through that.

threats that would likely arise in a large company would be that they would have to pay more money for the internet connection  and you don't know what they really are saying though the internet with out seeing them face to face to know the facial expressions that they use.  people could Harass you with pictures. the person/robot hacking your account might have a virus and might want to transfer it to your computer so keep your personal details to your self don't tell any one your password they might try to hack into it and they can cyber bulling by send threats to you and you can get distraction from eBay games and stuff. and you wont have that much human contact.

If you are out and about you will have to find a nearby hotspot or have 3g or 4g on you mobile phone which you can send pictures and email on the go. The term 3G refers to the third generation of mobile phone standards, as set by the International Telecommunications Union. 3G technologies allow mobile operators to offer more service options to their users, including mobile broadband. 3G offers greater flexibility and services. What you can do it take a picture on your phone and upload it to Facebook or another photo sharing place and when you get home send it to the newspaper as an attachment, or you could of got a digital camera then take a photo on that and give it to the newspaper to get it off your camera. If you decide to send a photo straight off your phone it could be quite expensive as right this minute you have to pay for your picture messages to be sent so it will be added to your bill at home. The best way is to upload it to upload it all to Facebook and then when you get home send it as an attachment as it is free, but you could send it with your camera but it is a lot more effort to get the picture then send it off, or you could save it onto your phone and the when you get back, upload it to your computer then send it to the newspaper.

There are a lot of protocols in a phone. There is 3G, WiFi, text messages, phone calls and more. When you're out and about your 3G turns on, when it turns on you get signals through the air wave and you can go on the internet but when you're indoors its totally different, if you have an internet connection at home you connect to your WiFi, when you're connected you can go on the internet.
Another good protocol is bluetooth, when you are with your friends and you're listening to a song that your friend likes, you can do a quick and easy transfer from phone to phone. All you have to do is turn your bluetooth on and connect to your friends phone, click on the song and send via bluetooth

iPhone 5 - This is a quality phone. It is quite pricey but its worth the money. It's really good as it is a 3G phone, this literally means that when you are outside and not connected to a WiFi connection you can go on the internet. On the iPhone you can go on the app market and download games, you can also go on iTunes and download music of it.

TOSHIBA Satellite P845t-101 14'' Touchscreen Laptop - This is a great laptop. It is easy to use as it is a touchscreen. It would be easy to navigate your way around it, and you could use it for anything. You could open a word document and write in it. The great thing as well is that it is a windows 8. I have also recommended this printer for you. HP Deskjet 2510 All-in-one Printer

Apple iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G 16 GB - Black - This is a really good tablet that you could use for anything. You could use it for games, for music, you can take pictures, go on the internet. You can do everything on it. Its amazing how it only weighs 612g, the screen is also quite big. When you are outside of the house you will be able to on the internet as it is 3G.

Apple iPod Touch 16 GB - This is good for many things. You can listen to music, go on the app market, take pictures, and talk to people. Its really good for music as the sound quality is excellent. The good thing is that you can download music off iTunes. Its really good.
